Tang Han
lives and works in Berlin
Her artistic practice is based on her own experience of cultural collision, and focuses on the subtleties of everyday life rather than taking a macro perspective. Through this approach, she deconstructs and interprets complex questions, and is skilled in using historical materials to reconstruct narratives in response to contemporary issues. She uses diverse artistic mediums, including video, film, installation, and text, to explore the intersection of ecology, feminism, and consumer culture in our society.
Her work has been recently shown in exhibitions at 22nd Biennial Sesc_Videobrasil, São Paulo (2023, upcoming), Kunstverein Hamburg (2023), Kunsthalle Osnabrück (2023), KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2022), Kunsthaus Dresden (2021), OCAT Shenzhen (2020), and HOW Art Museum, Shanghai (2020). She has screened work at film festivals including the International Festival of Films on Art, Montreal (2022), Taiwan International Documentary Festival (2022), Kasseler Dokfest, Kassel (2021). She was awarded the Award for Excellence at 34th Image Forum Festival in Tokyo (2020) and the Silver Dove Award at 64th DOK Leipzig (2021).
